Petition launched to tackle vehicle and noise scourge
Mickleham Parish Council
The Parish Council, through their chairman David Ireland, have taken the initiative in attempting to get something done about the excessive exhaust noise and number of speeding vehicles that pose an increasing danger to the safety and peace of residents, pedestrians and other road users in Mole Valley.
Efforts to persuade the authorities and the Police to grasp the seriousness of the problem and begin to tackle it have so far met with a negative response so the Parish Council has launched a petition calling on the appropriate bodies to take action.
The petition, which is available to view and sign up to at http://petitions.surreycc.gov.uk/DAAENS2019/ states that:-
We the undersigned petition Surrey County Council to coordinate measures by the Highways Dept, Environmental Health Dept, the Police and the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency, together with other responsible bodies, to take action to control the blight of excessive exhaust noise, speed and danger throughout the Dorking area, with particular regard to safety within villages.
The petition can also be accessed by clicking here.
If you share the view of Mickleham Parish Council that something needs to be done to curb this problem then please click on the link and add your name to the list. The deadline for signatures is 7th July 2020.
