Dear Sir or Madam

You are receiving this email because you have in the past expressed an interest in receiving emails and other correspondence from Mickleham Parish Council, and so your personal data is on our database. It might have been in connection with broadband, or planning, or the village shop, or speed limits, or the post office, or village events, or a whole host of other reasons to do with our parish.
With the impending (25th May 2018) implementation across the EU of the General Data Protection Regulation, we need your approval to continue to “process your data” i.e. to keep your personal data on our database and to send you emails and provide you with information in other ways.
Any personal data including your name, postal address, telephone number, and email address given to us will only be used to send you such correspondence and provide you with such information by or on behalf of Mickleham Parish Council, kept for as long as necessary to provide that service and not be disclosed to any other third party without your prior permission or unless we are required to do so by law.
IT IS NECESSARY FOR YOU TO RESPOND “YES” TO THIS EMAIL FOR YOU TO CONTINUE TO BE ON OUR DATABASE AND TO CONTINUE TO RECEIVE EMAILS AND OTHER INFORMATION FROM US. IF YOU DO NOT RESPOND BY EMAILING “YES” THAT IS THE LAST YOU WILL HEAR FROM US AFTER 25th MAY. THAT MAY OF COURSE BE MUSIC TO YOUR EARS, BUT IF IT ISN’T, PLEASE RESPOND “YES".
